When: Saturday, March 12. Time commitment is 1:30pm to 3:30pm
What they’re looking for: Startups with cool products or services that would excite CMOs
Qualifications: Must already have plans to attend SXSW and be available March 12

Havas Media Seeks Great Startup Speakers for Events in NYC
Havas Media Events in NYC
What: SVP Strategy and Innovation Tom Goodwin’s role includes educating and inspiring employees, and engaging early-stage companies. He’s expanding his contact list of speakers and wants to hear from companies that have a new technology, tool or product that Havas should know about. Read Tom’s full post.
When: Events will be held throughout 2016 and beyond, and include lunch-and-learns, conferences, workshops and innovation days.

What they’re looking for: Most important is that you’re an interesting presenter; relevancy of material is distant second. That said, topics should be relevant to marketing.

Engaging Smart Packaging
Background: Cornetto encourages love-struck teenagers around the world to express their feelings and Break the Ice. Cornetto’s target consumer is a true digital native. Hyper connected, their romantic journey starts in the digital world before developing further in the real world. This gives Cornetto a clear role as the Innocent Ice Breaker, and makes digital a critical component to our marketing campaigns.
Challenge: Help utilize packaging to enable the brand to disrupt the way it engages with consumers. Solutions could include, but are not limited to, technologies like QR code and NFC, etc. This new packaging should help Cornetto find new ways to thank and reward our consumers for their loyalty.

Background: Data blending is the fundamental of business intelligence and yet there is no easy way of performing the task. We are looking for a company that can disrupt the space.
Challenge: Reduce significant amount of tedious work when a business user is matching 2 separate data sets that potentially have no common unique identifier and produce an output file to be used as a master mapping table. Solution should be smart enough to suggest how 2 objects in given different files can be matched; subject matter expert should be able to validate the match.

Deal: Up to $120k for 6 to 10% of equity

Urban-X Accelerator (Presented By HAX and BMW MINI)
What: Accelerator for startups focused on intelligent cities, urban hyper-growth, and society-scale challenges. It seeks to engineer the “city as a service” to meet the challenges of rapid global urbanization.
Where: New York
Length: Not stated but starts mid-March
What they’re looking for: hardware and software startups that provide necessary infrastructure, technologies, products, and services.
Access to: MINI’s design, mechanical, and electrical engineering experts in residence; leading technology and policy institutions in NYC; mentorship and intros to HAX’s global network of investors, founders and decision-makers; possibly visit and work at HAX’s facilities in Shenzhen; office space and maker facilities;
Deal: $60k seed capital plus significant in-kind software, hosting, and legal services.

Jaguar Land Rover Tech Incubator
What: Program to support new software-based automotive technologies being developed by US startups.
Where: Portland, OR
Length: 6 months
What they’re looking for: Early-stage companies with MVP that can be ready to produce within 4-6 months of incubation. Companies that support future infotainment development.
Access to: Engineering and business mentors, IP team to support and protect your idea, manufacturing partners and global partners and suppliers.
Deal: Seed funding (convertible note); terms not specified.

Techstars Retail (in partnership with Target)
What: Accelerator focused on bringing new technology, experiences, products, and solutions to retail.

The deadline for the I-COM Data Venture Challenge, taking place in Spain in April 2016, has been extended to January 29. Please ping me (firstname.lastname@example.org) ASAP if you’re interested and meet the criteria outlined below.

Where: Seville, Spain
Who attends I-COM’s Global Summit: Data elite worldwide from companies including Unilever, Aegis, Ogilvy & Mather, Factual, Target, ESPN, Amazon and IPG Mediabrands.
Why apply: Distinguished jury will see your work. If selected, you’ll be discovered by dream potential customers and investors. Many participants return home with deals and strong leads.
Criteria: Have product live in the market and at least one client/one case study, be founded in 2012 or more recently, and have annual revenues of less than $2.5MM.
Cost: Application fee is €49. If selected as a finalist, you buy an I-COM ticket (€1,890) and cover your own travel/accommodations.
Previous winners: 2015’s overall winner was VMob from NZ, 2014’s was Realeyes from the UK. Finalists and more winners here.
